I’m a single mother of 5 beautiful children with various ages ranging from adults to teenagers. Being a single mother hasn’t always been easy and understanding financial literacy was a challenge. This is apparent in our African American communities where resources are limited and being a single mother sometimes puts you at a disadvantage. However, I learnt that in order to wedge the socioeconomic gap, we must first be informed, educated, and understand how to build our personal credit being that credit is essential in this world we live in. I have been on a mission to help other single mothers like myself become educated and knowledgeable about understanding financial literacy, building their personal credit and purchasing the home and car they desire. To others this may seem small but to a single mother and her children this could mean the world. Helping a single mother provide a safe place to live for her children builds her self confidence as a mother and woman, our ultimate goal.
